Forever Young Run
The Forever Young Run takes place on April 12, 2026 in Placitas, New Mexico on National Forest Service Forest Loop Road. The event offers two distances:
- 6 Mile
- 3 Mile
The course is a dirt loop on a wide road through a pinon and juniper area with rolling hills. The 6 mile route is a full loop of Forest Loop Road. The 3 mile follows the 6 mile course for the first 1.5 miles, then turns around to return to the start and finish area.
The event is sponsored by the Albuquerque Road Runners Club and is held in memory of an ARR member who died in a cycling accident in 2004. Participants are encouraged to run shirtless in memory of that member; running without a shirt is allowed but not topless.
Awards are presented to the top three finishers in each age category for each event. Age categories are 0-15, 16-25, 26-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 plus. Refreshments, including breakfast burritos, are provided after the race.
Registration is non refundable unless the race is cancelled. Online registration ends April 11 at 4:00 pm. Fee levels vary by date and by ARR membership with lower fees for earlier registration. Pre race packet pickup is available at Heart and Sole Sports Stores on April 11 12:00 to 4:00 pm. A portion of proceeds benefits the Placitas Community Library.
