Event overview
The Forever Young Run takes place in Placitas, New Mexico, on National Forest Service Forest Loop Road. The event offers two distances:
- 6 Mile
- 3 Mile
The race is held in memory of a local runner and is sponsored by the Albuquerque Road Runners Club. The course runs on a wide, hard-packed dirt road through a pinon and juniper area with rolling hills. Refreshments, including breakfast burritos, are provided after the race. A portion of proceeds benefits the Placitas Community Library.
Course and categories
The 6 Mile route is a full loop of the Forest Loop Road in Placitas. The 3 Mile follows the 6-mile course for the first 1.5 miles, then turns back to the start/finish area. Awards are presented to the top three finishers in each age category. Age groups are: 0-15, 16-25, 26-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+.
