Follow the Sign : Brook Run Park
The Georgia Center of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing presents Follow the Sign at Brook Run Park in Dunwoody, Georgia on August 23, 2026. The event raises funds to support Deaf, DeafBlind, and hard-of-hearing individuals and highlights sign language, accessibility, and Deaf culture.
The event includes multiple participation formats:
- 5K in-person on a USATF-certified course and AJC Peachtree Road Race qualifier
- VIRTUAL 5K with results submission required by October 4, 2026
- 1K Toddler Trot for ages 5 and under
In-person participants receive a race T-shirt and bib at check-in and a medal upon completion. The race is open to participants ages 5 and older; anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a registered adult. Guide or push-assist runners must register and may be timed or untimed. Registrations are nontransferable and nonrefundable. Awards are given to overall male and female finishers and to top male and female finishers in age groups (under 18; 19-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60+), with winners determined by net time; only timed runners can qualify for awards.
Event rules specify staying on the designated 5K course, prohibitions on weapons and nonpermitted vehicles on the course, and service animals allowed only as required by ADA participants. Parking is available via the Peeler Road entrance with a parking lot on Dekalb Drive across from the amphitheater. COVID-19 protocols may be implemented as required.
