Follow the Sign
Follow the Sign is organized by the Georgia Center of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing and takes place at Brook Run Park in Dunwoody, Georgia on August 23, 2026. The event highlights sign language, Deaf culture, and community access while raising funds to support Deaf, DeafBlind, and hard-of-hearing individuals.
Distances offered:
- 5K in-person
- 5K virtual option
- 1K Toddler Trot for ages 5 and under
The 5K is USATF-certified and serves as an AJC Peachtree Road Race qualifier. In-person participants receive a race T-shirt, race number at check-in, and a medal upon completion. Virtual participants may complete the 5K at any location and will receive a commemorative T-shirt and medal by mail.
Participation is open to people ages 5 and older; participants under 18 must be accompanied by a registered adult. Registrations are nontransferable and nonrefundable. Race bibs must be picked up by the registered participant and require a government-issued photo ID that matches the registered name; minors accompanied by a registered adult do not need a photo ID.
Awards are given by net time for overall male and female finishers and for top male and female in each age group. Guides or push-assist runners must register. The event includes COVID-19 health protocols that may be adjusted as needed.
