First Responder 5K Run/Walk : Atlanta
The event offers an in-person and a virtual option, each covering a distance of 5 km. The in-person activities take place at The Battery Atlanta in Cobb County and include first responder vehicles and displays, family lawn games, a performance by the Heavy Hitter band, and an appearance by the Atlanta Braves mascot Blooper. The course is described as hilly and strollers and leashed dogs are welcome.
Registration opens February 5, 2026 and closes June 27, 2026. The in-person registration fee is $35 and the virtual registration fee is $40. Registration by July 3, 2026 guarantees a t-shirt for registrants; virtual participants will receive shirts by mail and virtual registrations do not include medals. Virtual participants may submit their times online from race day through the following Sunday.
Awards include medals for the top three finishers in multiple age divisions, including Overall Male and Female and standard age brackets from 10 and under through 70 and over. Top fundraisers receive prizes; the top three fundraisers may select a first responder agency to receive a personalized "Day in the Life" tour from participating agencies such as Cobb Police, Cobb Sheriff, Cobb 911, Cobb Animal Control, Cobb Emergency Management, and Cobb Fire.
