Flying Falcon Downhill Mile
The Flying Falcon Downhill Mile is a one mile road race held at the United States Air Force Academy on August 16, 2026. The course drops approximately 220 feet from start to finish and is run on a fully paved road.
The route follows Academy Drive, beginning near Doolittle Hall and finishing toward Falcon Stadium. Runners are sorted into multiple waves based on projected finishing times.
Parking is planned in Lot 5 near the eastern turn-ins off Academy Drive. Bib pickup and race check-in will be available near the finish area. Shuttle transportation to the start line will be provided for all runners. Post-race music, refreshments, and awards will take place near the finish area.
Registration opens May 24, 2026 and closes August 14, 2026. The registration fee is $20.00. Non-Department of Defense participants will receive an email prior to race day with instructions for obtaining base access. A REAL ID compliant driver’s license or identification card will be required to access the Academy grounds. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
