Flint's Fabulous 5K - 2026
Flint's Fabulous 5K takes place on September 26, 2026, at 150 North Research Campus Drive, Kannapolis, NC. The event supports Leashes of Valor, a national nonprofit that provides highly trained service dogs at no cost to post-9/11 veterans.
The race offers a registration option that includes a race shirt and a no-shirt option. Price examples listed for 2026 are $30.88 for the shirt option (listed as $27 registration plus $3.88 in taxes and fees) and $23.39 for the no-shirt option (listed as $20 registration plus $3.39 in taxes and fees). Base registration proceeds and optional add-on donations go directly to Leashes of Valor and to dog training resources. Add-on donation levels correspond to specific training needs such as food, leashes, bowls, vests, beds, vaccinations, and handler training.
For 2026 the 3rd annual Flint's Fabulous 5K joined the Run Kannapolis Race Series; registering for all eight races in the series is listed with a 25% discount on the total series registration. Registration by September 11 is listed as the deadline to guarantee a shirt.
Event logistics noted include packet pickup the day prior or at the start/finish, distribution of shirts, bibs and safety pins at packet pickup, finisher bags at the finish, and raffle ticket sales. The event is dog friendly; participants are asked to bring well socialized dogs, clean up after them, and consider local heat conditions. Leashes of Valor training runs from about 8 weeks to 1.5–2 years and the organization reports an average cost of approximately $30,000 per fully trained service dog.
