Flannel 5K and 1-Mile Run
The Flannel 5K Run celebrates its sixth annual edition at Beutter Park in Mishawaka, Indiana. This athletic event utilizes the local Riverwalk for its course, providing a scenic route for both runners and walkers. Participants can choose between two distinct distances:
- 5 km running race
- 1 mile running race
Both distances are chip-timed to ensure accurate results for all participants. Every individual who completes their chosen distance receives a finisher medal. Recognition is provided for the top male and female finishers in both the 5 km and 1 mile categories. Event-specific shirts are available for purchase at the race store on a first-come, first-served basis.
Pre-race arrangements include packet pickup on the Friday prior at Fleet Feet Mishawaka or on the morning of the event at Chicory Café. Attendees are encouraged to wear flannel clothing during their run.
The organizers cooperate with the South Bend Center for the Homeless to collect donations of new or gently used winter clothing. Participants may drop off coats, hats, and gloves at the designated pickup locations in the days leading up to the race or at the venue on the day of the event.
