Event Information
The Firewater Ultra takes place on the East Lakeshore Trail along the east coast of the Tellico Reservoir in Greenback, Tennessee. This will be its 12th year. The event utilizes the trail system end-to-end, with the finish line at the southern terminus, the Wildcat Pointe Trailhead. Participants can choose from several distances:
- 100K: Runs the entire length of the trail out and back.
- 50K Sunrise/Sunset: Starts at the northern Canal Branch Trailhead and runs back to the southern finish. The "Sunset" option is a later start.
- 50K Relay (2-person): Each runner covers half of the 50K course.
- 25K Ruck: Covers the second half of the 50K course, starting from the Sinking Creek Aid Station.
The 25K Ruck involves carrying a weighted pack with specific minimum dry weights for different participant categories. Finishers of the ruck receive a custom patch.
For the 2026 edition, participants will receive a hoodie sweatshirt. The race offers optional live tracking for participants and their supporters.
