About the race
The Firewater Ultra is a trail event held on October 24, 2026, in Greenback, TN, on the East Lakeshore Trail along the east shore of Tellico Reservoir. The course uses maintained trails managed by the Watershed Association of the Tellico Reservoir and finishes at the Wildcat Pointe Trailhead, the southern terminus of the trail system. Race formats include solo and team options that follow the same general route. The 100K runs the full length of the trail out and back.
The 50K covers the northern half of the trail and returns to the same finish. A 50K relay divides the 50K course into two legs with a relay exchange at Sinking Creek Trailhead; the first leg has less elevation, the second has more climbing. A 25K Ruck event covers the second half of the 50K course and uses weighted rucks with specified minimum dry weights by category.
A 25K Run w the Ruckers follows the same second half route without the weight requirement. The event provides multiple aid stations along the trail and crew access at many locations. Optional live tracking is available for each race. Participant shirts for 2026 will be hoodie sweatshirts and the organizer will place the shirt order on October 16.
