Firewater Ultra
The Firewater Ultra is a set of trail events held on the East Lakeshore Trail along the east shore of Tellico Reservoir near Greenback, TN. The event has run on this trail system for twelve years and uses maintained, runnable trails.
Available events include:
- 100K out and back along the full trail
- 50K point to finish from the northern trailhead
- 50K Relay two runners share the 50K course
- 25K Ruck covering the second half of the 50K course
- 25K Run w/the Ruckers second half run alongside ruck participants
The finish line is at the Wildcat Pointe Trailhead (trailhead #10). The 100K runs from Wildcat Pointe north to Canal Branch Trailhead (trailhead #1) and back. 50K runners start at Canal Branch and run to Wildcat Pointe. The relay splits the 50K with the exchange near Sinking Creek Trailhead (trailhead #4); the first leg is longer with less elevation, the second leg is shorter with more climbing. Bus transport is used to move 50K starters and some relay runners to the northern start.
The 25K Ruck requires dry pack weights by category and a preevent weigh in; finishers receive a custom patch and standard event swag. A race manual, course maps, aid station and cutoff details, and optional live tracking pages are provided for participants. Shirt orders are placed on October 9, so sizes depend on registration received before that date. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
