FireK 26 in North Augusta
FireK 26 is a community running event held on October 31, 2026 at the North Augusta Greenway. The event offers two race distances and activities aimed at families and children.

The day features displays of fire apparatus, fire-related activities for children, a Kid's Fun Zone, a Kid's Fun Run, appearances by Super Heroes, a live DJ, trophies, door prizes, and a free hotdog lunch. Firefighters are encouraged to register as teams to compete in the 5K for a bragging rights trophy and a prize.
The event includes a stated mission focused on firefighter cancer prevention and support: provide financial assistance to firefighting families affected by cancer, offer no-cost preemptive screenings that meet NFPA and IAFC recommendations, and connect firefighters with resources to prevent, reduce, and address cancer risks. The organizer cites that between 2002 and 2017, 61% of firefighter deaths were attributed to occupational cancer, that firefighters have a 9% greater chance of getting cancer than civilians, and a 14% increased risk of dying from that cancer.
