Event Overview
The Finish Line Run is a 6-hour timed challenge event where participants can run or walk their chosen distance, from a 5 km to an ultra marathon. The event is organized to celebrate a runner completing their 400th marathon. It is licensed by the TRA and run under UK Athletics rules.
Distances and Course
Participants can choose from several timed challenges and distances. The course consists of laps on a mainly flat, tarmac path along an old railway line, with a small section on a field at the start and finish of each lap. It is an out-and-back route requiring no navigation.
The lap distances and target events are:
- A full lap is 3.28 miles.
- A 5 km uses a turn point on the lap.
- A 10 km is two laps of the 5 km route.
- A half marathon is four laps of the full course.
- A marathon is eight laps.
- An ultra marathon is nine or more laps. The last lap can be started up to 5 hours, 59 minutes, and 59 seconds into the event.
Amenities and Logistics
A support table at the end of each lap provides water, squash, fizzy drinks, and a variety of food. Toilets are available at the pavilion on the playing field. Parking is located at the Skellingthorpe Community Centre car park on Lincoln Road.
