Dukeries 30 and 40
These are single‑lap trail races that start in the heart of Sherwood Forest and use mostly forest trails and footpaths. The routes pass Creswell Crags, the Welbeck Estate, Clumber Park, peaceful farmland and the Thoresby Estate before returning to Sherwood Forest. The 40 mile route also passes the Major Oak.
The event is fully marked and marshalled so no navigation beyond common sense is required. Basic refreshments are provided at regular intervals and at the finish. All finishers receive a medal unless they opt out. Runners may use a run/walk strategy during the race; the event is restricted to runners rather than walkers with no intention of meeting the cut off.
Key event details include a generous overall cut off of 10.5 hours, no pacers allowed, and no drop bags. Dogs and canicross are welcome subject to a maximum of 20 canicross runners. The event will close once full and a waiting list may operate. Additional options offered at entry include purchasing a T shirt or contributing to a tree planting.
