Dukeries 30–40
The Dukeries 30 and Dukeries 40 are trail ultramarathons in Nottinghamshire that start near the heart of Sherwood Forest and remain mostly on forest trails and footpaths. The routes pass sandstone villages and several historical sites, including Thoresby Estate, Creswell Crags and the Welbeck Estate. The 40 mile course goes deeper into the forest and passes The Major Oak. The terrain includes runnable sections.
Distances:
- 30 miles route through sandstone villages and historical sites
- 40 miles route that extends further into Sherwood Forest and past The Major Oak
The course is fully marked with tape and arrows and has well-stocked aid stations along the way. Finishers receive a medal and hot soup, tea and coffee are provided at the finish; vegan food is available and milk is provided for hot drinks. There is free parking at the start. Pacers are not allowed; crews may access the route except at locations where they are specifically banned. Drop bags are not available for this event. Total cutoff for the event is 10.5 hours with one enforced cutoff at Aid Station 3 (A614). Entries close three weeks before the event or when full and no entries are accepted on the day. Event resources include a GPX route file, route map and runner instructions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
