Event overview

The Dukeries 30 / 40 is an annual trail running event organised by HOBO Pace on a circular loop near Sherwood Forest, Nottinghamshire. The event offers two distances:

  • 30 Miles
  • 40 Miles

Entries are limited to 250 runners. The minimum age to enter is 20. Entry fees are listed as £46 for the 30 mile option and £53 for the 40 mile option. Walkers are not permitted; the race is for runners only. The event is fully waymarked and marshalled.

Route, support and logistics

The start and finish are at Walesby Sports & Social Club, Forest Lane, Walesby, Newark NG22 9PF. The routes follow forest trails, footpaths, minor roads and field edges, and pass Creswell Crags, the Welbeck Estate, Clumber Park and the Thoresby Estate. The 40 mile course includes a section that passes The Major Oak. The course distances are given as approximately 30.8 miles and 40.8 miles.

Aid stations are provided at regular intervals and are described as well stocked. Cut-off time for the race is 10.5 hours; the only enforced cut-off is at the A614 aid station, where competitors may be asked to stop if there is insufficient time to complete the remaining 7 miles. First aid medics will be present. Pacers are not allowed and no drop bags are permitted. Dogs and canicross are allowed but entries for canicross are restricted.
