Dukeries 30 / 40

The Dukeries 30 / 40 is an annual trail running event taking place on Saturday 9 May 2026 in and around Sherwood Forest, Nottinghamshire. The event is organised as a single clockwise loop on waymarked paths with marshals and first aid medics present.

Distances

  • 30.8 miles loop
  • 40.8 miles loop

The route stays mostly on forest trails and footpaths and passes through a sequence of local landmarks. It runs from Walesby into Sherwood Forest, past charming lodges, through Creswell Crags, skirting the Welbeck Estate, crossing Clumber Park and passing the Thoresby Estate before returning to Walesby. The 40.8 mile course additionally passes The Major Oak.

There are regular, well stocked aid stations on both routes. A single enforced cut off of 10.5 hours applies at the A614 aid station; competitors must stop there if there is not sufficient time to complete the remaining distance within that limit. The course is fully marked with tape and arrows and marshals are positioned at aid stations.

Event limits and rules include a maximum of 250 runners, no walkers (entries are for runners), no pacers and no drop bags. Canicross entries are accepted but limited. HQ and parking are at Walesby Sports and Social Club, Forest Lane, Walesby, Newark NG22 9PF; parking is limited and public transport options are restricted. Finishers receive a medal and basic refreshments and hot drinks are provided at the finish. All HOBO Pace events are fully vegan. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
