Dukeries 30 / 40
The Dukeries 30 / 40 is a single lap trail race that starts in the heart of Sherwood Forest and is based at Walesby Sports & Social Club, Forest Lane, Walesby, Newark, Nottinghamshire (NG22 9PF). The route uses mostly forest trails, footpaths and minor roads, and passes Creswell Crags, the Welbeck Estate, Clumber Park and the Thoresby Estate. The 40 mile route also passes The Major Oak.
The event is fully waymarked and marshalled. There are regular, well stocked aid stations and first aid medics on course; basic refreshments are provided at intervals and at the finish. Toilets are available at the race headquarters and possibly on route. All finishers receive a HOBO Pace medal with race engraving. The organiser states that all HOBO Pace events are fully vegan.
Race rules and services noted in the event information include no pacers, no drop bags, and crews are not permitted at aid stations. Dogs and canicross are welcome with a maximum of 20 canicross entrants. The minimum age to enter is 20 years. Entries are limited to 250 runners and the event will close once full; entries close three weeks before the event unless already full.
The course is described as a 30.8 mile or 40.8 mile clockwise circular loop on waymarked paths with marshals present and a 10.5 hour overall cut off enforced at the A614 aid station. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
