Thoresby Park Longhorn Trail Event 2026
The Longhorn Trail event takes place at Thoresby Park, Newark, on 18 April 2026. The estate covers over 1,000 acres of parkland and includes a 17th century mansion, an art collection, and wildlife such as wild deer and long-horned cattle. The venue postcode is NG22 9EP.
Routes cover several distances and age categories:
- Family 2km, suitable for ages 5+, no canicross
- 5km, suitable for ages 11+
- 10km, suitable for ages 15+
- Half marathon, suitable for ages 17+
The estate is fairly flat, and the 5km and 10km routes are noted as appropriate for first-time trail runners or those moving up from Parkrun. The event is canicross friendly except for the 2km family run; runners may take up to two controlled dogs and canicross entries have a separate start. Nordic walkers are welcome on any distance.
Live chip timing will be provided by Timing Up North. All finishers receive Wild Deer merchandise, an event medal, and a snack. A bespoke event T-shirt is available for an additional £12.
