The route links North Queensferry and St Andrews Cathedral and passes through towns such as Dunfermline, Lochore, Markinch and Ceres. The course includes about 1,200 m of elevation gain and is fully waymarked and GPS tracked. The race is presented as a UTMB Index 100K category event.

Entry is limited to 150 participants, with a standard entry fee of £135 and an optional £5 charity donation per runner. The event age limit is 20 years and over and the course has a 15 hour time limit. Organiser provisions include medals and T-shirts for finishers, hot food at selected aid stations, and a shuttle bus for return to the start. The finish is at St Andrews Cathedral.
