Unique Race Feature

All participants are required to carry a one-pound railroad spike for the entire distance. Finishers throw their spike into a coffin and receive an engraved spike.

Race Logistics

There is a total cutoff time of 25 hours, with hard cutoffs at aid stations along the course. Pacers are not allowed. Packet pickup occurs at the Amicalola Lodge on the Friday night before the event. A pre-race shuttle service from Amicalola on race morning is available for separate purchase.

Registration Details

Registration includes a hat and a pint glass. A volunteer requirement applies for the 2026 event: participants must complete 6 hours of volunteer work at any trail race or trail maintenance project, or pay a $20 opt-out fee. This requirement must be met by race day.

Western States Qualification

The race is a Western States Endurance Run qualifier. Finishing in under 24 hours earns one lottery ticket for the 2027 Western States Endurance Run. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
