Event Information
The Fence Stile Vineyards Wine Run/Walk 5k takes place at Fence Stile Vineyards & Winery in Excelsior Springs, Missouri.
The Course
The event features a 5k cross-country style course consisting of two loops around the winery property. The route passes through areas with trees, wooded sections, a pond, and rows of grapevines. The course includes grass and uneven ground. The event uses chip timing for the run/walk.
Registration Details
A standard registration includes a race bib, a finisher medal, a soft cotton t-shirt, and a portable, collapsible wine glass. Finishers also receive a pour of wine. The event supports the Gladstone Parks, Recreation & Cultural Arts "Recreation Connection Scholarship Program," which helps low-income families afford recreational programs.
Participation Notes
Walking is permitted. The event is open to minors, who receive a discounted registration that includes a shirt, medal, and bib, but not a wine glass or wine. Strollers are allowed but not recommended due to the uneven terrain; children in strollers do not need to register. Dogs are not permitted on-site due to USDA regulations for produce farms.
Awards
Age group awards are given to the top three finishers in ten-year categories ranging from 19 & under to 80 & over. Competitive runners must start in the first group to be eligible for these awards. There is no awards ceremony; winners can check results online and pick up their award at the registration table approximately one hour after the first wave starts. Awards are only available on event day.
