Fast and Furriest 5k Year 12
Fast and Furriest 5k Year 12 is Rescue One’s twelfth annual community running event in Springfield, Missouri. The gathering is based at the field next to Sleepy Opossum Cafe, 1409 E Cherry Street, and follows a route through the Rountree neighborhood.
The event includes multiple race options:
- Human 5K
- Human/Dog 5K
- 1 Mile
- Virtual Race
The event is described as family friendly and intended for animal lovers and athletes. Well socialized, leashed dogs are allowed on the course; retractable leashes are not permitted. Participants use a familiar route that the organizer describes as the same location and route as the previous year.
Proceeds support Rescue One and are intended to help save lives. The event is planned to proceed rain or shine unless severe weather creates unsafe conditions, in which case organizers will consider rescheduling for later in the year.
