Last Chance Ultra
Last Chance Ultra is a trail ultramarathon weekend held near Springfield, Missouri on December 5–6, 2026. The event offers multiple distances on a short loop course that returns to a central basecamp each lap. Basecamp includes the start and finish area, space for gear and crews, and post-race and during-race food.
The course uses a roughly 2 mile loop on maintained trails, gravel, and some pavement. Runners pass the start/finish on each lap. One aid station is located at the start/finish area; participants should bring most of their own supplies. The event uses a one-time-use timing chip attached to the race bib and bibs must be worn on the front of the body and not altered.
Key rules include a 32 hour overall cutoff to earn an official finish and a prohibition on mechanical or unnatural transportation. Pacers must be on foot, at least 18 years old, and follow race procedures. Crews may set up at basecamp and are the responsibility of the runner. Packet pickup occurs the morning of each race at the race site and requires photo identification.
Camping and vans are allowed on site with no hookups; generators are permitted. Arrivals for camping are restricted to a Friday setup window of 3 to 7 pm. Nearest hotel information is provided for Springfield. Awards include finishers medals or buckles depending on distance, top three male and female awards, and an award for the last finisher in each race.
