Farm 5K Run/Walk at Wardensville Garden Market
The Farm 5K is a 5-kilometer run and walk held in Wardensville, West Virginia as part of the Wardensville Spring Fest on May 23, 2026. The course is an off-road route beside the Cacapon River that winds alongside Lewis Farm, passing areas where organic vegetables are grown and livestock graze.
Proceeds from the event support local youth enrolled in the Junior Crew program operated by Farms Work Wonders. The organization aims to give Appalachian youth opportunities to learn work skills, build confidence, and explore future pathways through participation in real businesses.
Registration opens January 19 and closes May 1; the listed registration fee is $45. Same-day registration is available and t-shirt sizes are not guaranteed. Awards include first place overall male and female and best male and female in each age division, for a total of 20 prizes; specific prizes are to be announced.
Age divisions include 9 and under, 10 to 15, 16 to 21, 22 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, and 60 plus. The market and courtyard are dog-friendly, but dogs are not permitted on the 5K course to protect livestock and participants; participants are asked to make arrangements for pets and avoid leaving them in vehicles.
