Family Night at the Track and Meet of Miles
The DC Road Runners Club and the Potomac Valley Track Club will host Family Night at the Track and Meet of Miles on August 9, 2026, at Yorktown High School, 2700 N. Greenbrier St., Arlington, VA 22207. The program includes short track races for children and longer distances for youth and adults.
Event distances and formats include:
- 400 meters fun run - children 4 and under and parents only
- 800 meters fun run - children 8 and under only
- 1 mile - multiple heats; heats can be combined or split
- 3000 meters run
The 400 meter and 800 meter races are presented as fun runs with age restrictions as noted. The one mile and 3000 meter races carry a registration fee of $10; the 400 meter and 800 meter races have no fee. Registration opened on May 25, 2026 and closes on August 9, 2026 for the listed events. The meet will run on the track at the high school and will include multiple heats for the mile depending on the number of entrants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
