Event Overview
The Ryan Shaw Memorial 5k is a 5 kilometer run/walk event. It is organized by the Boston Chapter of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity in memory of Ryan Scott Shaw.
Location & Course
The event is held at DCR Artesani Park on Soldiers Field Road in Brighton, Boston. The course is a loop route along the Charles River. It begins at Artesani Park and follows a bike path along Soldiers Field Road and Greenough Boulevard. The route is described as scenic, flat, and paved. There are no street crossings on the course.
Registration & Fees
- 5k Run/Walk: Online registration costs $30. Day-of registration on site costs $40.
Online registration opens on September 10, 2026. Participants who register by November 5, 2025, receive a complimentary event t-shirt. Online registration closes on November 14, 2025. Day-of registration begins in the morning.
Participant Information
The event welcomes participants of all ages and abilities. To manage the expected turnout, participants will be started in waves of approximately 300 people, with 10-minute intervals between waves.
