Families Run for Ovarian Cancer ROC Star Run/Walk
The event is the 20th annual Families Run for Ovarian Cancer ROC Star Run/Walk at the Sons of Rest Pavilion in Tower Grove Park, Saint Louis. It raises funds for ovarian cancer research and awareness through St. Louis Ovarian Cancer Awareness and features both in-person and virtual participation options.
Distances and options include:
- 5k Run/Walk, chip timed
- 1 Mile Run/Walk, not timed
- Kids 1 Mile Fun Run, for children under 12, not timed
- ROC from Home virtual 5k, shirt mailed after the in-person event
All event registrations include a limited edition 20th anniversary shirt while supplies last. ROC from Home registrations have shirts mailed after the in-person event and a shipping charge of $5 is added to each virtual registration. Listed registration fees include $35 for the 5k, $30 for the 1 mile and virtual 5k, and $15 for the kids fun run.
The event is family and dog friendly and includes a Survivor Ceremony in which survivors are called by name, receive a flower, and are photographed as a group. An Honor and Memory Wall allows participants to attach photos or messages; materials are provided and items affixed cannot be returned. Onsite offerings include flu shots for ages 7 and up, music by TKO DJs, roaming selfie stations, appearances by Fredbird and Louie, the Bubble Bus, coffee and specialty drinks for purchase, complimentary morning donuts and bananas, Kona Ice treats, complimentary hot dogs and chips while supplies last, and beer for attendees 21 and over.
