St. Mary's Oktoberfest 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run
The event is part of St. Mary’s Oktoberfest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton, Illinois (519 E 4th St, Alton, IL 62002). The festival includes polkas, German food, inflatables and live music on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and the running events begin the weekend festivities.
Race entries include a finisher medal and a t-shirt; registration also includes a free soda or beer ticket. Awards are given to the top three male and top three female finishers, plus age group awards. Age group brackets are: 12 and under; 13–19; 20–29; 30–39; 40–49; 50–59; 60–69; 70 and over. The organizer lists over $500 in prizes. All proceeds benefit St. Mary’s school and parish.
Registration opens January 19, 2026. Some events close registration on April 6, 2026, and others close on September 7, 2026. Registering by September 14 guarantees a preferred shirt size.
