Course
The race uses well-established dirt single-track trails with winding switchbacks and multiple views of lakes and ponds. The trail system is split into two sides - one loop of about 2 miles and the other loop of 4+ miles. The 10K follows one full loop through the trails; the Half is two laps. The course is not flat and is described as not conducive to personal records.
Divisions, awards and policies
Entrants may declare Male, Female, or Non-Binary gender when registering; the organizer accepts declared gender at face value and provides an option to state pronouns. Every participant receives a finisher award; the top three male and top three female finishers at each distance receive podium awards. There is currently no additional awarding in the non-binary category. Youth pricing is available for runners 19 and under, with reduced registration fees for the 10K, Half, and a Half Relay. The event participates in a Trail Mix Fund to waive fees for runners who cannot afford entry. Deferral options exist for pregnancy and recent new parents. There are cut-off rules at the halfway point for the Half and an overall finish cut-off. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
