Event overview
I Love Coffee 5k Road Run and Walk takes place on January 17, 2026 at Hawthorne Park Community Center, 500 Ackerman Drive, Porter, Indiana. The event includes two distances:
- 5k road run
- 5k non-competitive walk
Registration fees are tiered. Road run fees are listed at $39.44 for the earlier tier and $50.14 for the later tier. Walk fees are listed at $28.74 for the earlier tier and $39.44 for the later tier. Prices shown are inclusive of mandatory charges and items.
Race details
The course uses town streets and the paved bike trail. It is marked with flags and arrow signs at major turns. The route includes a loop in a subdivision and then returns along the same route. Roads are not closed to traffic, so participants should use caution.
Timing is manual: finishers receive a numbered popsicle stick and must return it to a volunteer inside the community center. There is no formal awards ceremony; medals are awarded to the overall male and female winners and to the top three in each age group.
Participants receive a limited-edition t-shirt while supplies last. Once shirts are gone, participants will receive a winter hat and gloves. Coffee hats are available for purchase at the community center for $10. All participants receive one raffle ticket; additional tickets may be purchased for $1.
