Event Purpose

This event is a fundraiser held in honor of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty. The proceeds go towards building a Fallen Officer Memorial on the University of North Georgia - Dahlonega Campus. The memorial will include the names of officers who graduated from UNG or worked for its police department.

Course Information

The 5k run/walk takes place on the UNG Dahlonega campus. The course is two laps, returning to the start/finish line and passing a fountain on the second lap. It features an elevation gain of approximately 400 feet. The final 0.25+ miles is a gradual downhill to the finish. Half of each lap is on a walkway and half on a road. A water station is located at a roundabout before the start of the second lap.

The event welcomes runners and walkers and has a one-hour time limit (roughly a 20-minute per mile pace). Course support and timing are not provided for participants who exceed this limit.
