Fallen Heroes 5 Miler
The Fallen Heroes 5 Miler is an annual road race held in downtown Fredericksburg. The course begins in the parking lot at James Monroe High School and runs through downtown streets. The event is hosted by Fredericksburg Fallen Heroes, a local non-profit that provides support to veterans and first responders. It is part of the Coldwell Banker Elite Grand Prix series in conjunction with the Fredericksburg Area Running Club.
The event distance is 5 Miles. Packet pickup is scheduled for Friday, July 3 at Lucky Road Run Shop, 1865 Carl D Silver Pkwy Unit #110, Fredericksburg, VA, with a recommended pickup window in the afternoon; same-day packet pickup is available at the high school parking lot. Registration opens January 8, 2026. Entry fees vary by date: $35 through April 8, $40 April 9 through June 8, $45 June 9 through July 2, and $50 July 3–4. Fees are nonrefundable.
Awards are presented to overall top finishers in the men’s and women’s divisions (1st–3rd) and by age groups (19 & under, 20–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, 60–69, 70 & over). Specialty awards include a best-patriotic-outfit prize for best male and best female, each receiving a $50 gift card. Registration by June 8 is required to guarantee a race shirt; extra shirts may be available for purchase for $20 with limited supply. All finishers receive a medal.
