West Point Half Marathon - Fallen Comrades Run
The West Point Half Marathon - Fallen Comrades Run takes place at West Point, New York. This event is dedicated to members of the Long Gray Line who have served in war. The primary goal of the race is to honor their memory while fostering camaraderie through athletic competition. All proceeds from the event support the USMA Cadet Activities Fund, which provides extracurricular and recreational programs for the Corps of Cadets.
Participants can choose from several event distances and formats:
- 13.1 Miles (Half Marathon)
- 13.1 Miles (Half Marathon Ruck)
- 1 Mile (Kids Fun Run)
The 13.1 Miles half marathon can be completed as a standard run or as a ruck. For those entering the ruck category, individuals must carry at least 35 lbs to qualify for competitive awards. Participants in the half marathon receive a long-sleeve technical shirt and a finisher medal. Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers in various categories, including overall winners, cadet categories, and age groups ranging from 19 and under to 65 and older.
The 1 Mile kids fun run is open to participants aged 12 and under, and parents are permitted to run alongside their children. All children who participate receive a medal, and prizes are awarded to the top three finishers.
The event operations are based near Daly Field and Johnson Stadium at Doubleday Field. Due to security protocols at the United States Military Academy, participants and spectators without a Department of Defense ID card must obtain a visitor pass from the West Point Visitor Control Center. Packet pickup is scheduled for the day prior to the race, with limited pickup options available on the morning of the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
