Event overview
Project 13.1 is a half marathon held on March 21, 2026, at Rockland Lake State Park in Congers, New York. The start and finish are located near Parking Lot #5. Registration for the 2026 race is sold out and there will be no waitlist.
Course and race format
The course is USATF/IAAF-certified. Runners head out for roughly 3/4 mile, make a 180-degree turn, pass the start line, and then complete four clockwise loops around the lake. Tangents will be marked to help runners follow the shortest line on each loop. The event is organized in two waves, each with approximately 250 runners. Each wave includes 5 to 10 pacers and bike escorts. Last year the cutoff for the faster wave was near a 1:16 goal time; athletes will be able to select their preferred wave closer to the race. The event is structured to support runners aiming for times under 90 minutes, with pacers available for those goals.
Amenities and logistics
All registered runners receive a 2026 Project 13.1 hat from Fractel and a full catered breakfast that includes muffins, fruit, eggs, and waffles. The race offers individualized bottle service on course. The organizer has a hotel partnership with the Hampton Inn Nanuet offering a discounted room rate of $145 plus tax for the night before the race; participants remain responsible for their own transportation to the park.
