About the race
The Fall Scramble at Holiday Valley Resort in Ellicottville, NY, is an off-road running event featuring 4-mile and 8-mile race options. Held on the resort property, the race starts with a unique chairlift ride to the top of the hill. The 4-mile course is mainly downhill and considered easier, while the 8-mile course is more challenging with significant climbing, looping twice around the resort trails.
The course features wide trails and includes water stops—one for the shorter race and three for the longer. Participants receive chip timing, a warm custom pom hat, post-race food, and a complimentary beer from Ellicottville Brewing, creating a festive atmosphere during the Fall Festival weekend.
