Fairhill Five Mile Road Race
Ballymena Runners stages the Fairhill Five Mile Road Race at Fairhill Shopping Centre in Ballymena on Thursday 4 June 2026. The event is sponsored by Fairhill Shopping Centre and is contested over a 5-mile road course.
Entries open on 22 March 2026 and close on 25 May 2026. The minimum age to enter is 16. Entry fees are listed as Affiliated £23.00 and Non-Affiliated £25.00. There will be no entries on the night. Transfers or name changes can be made online until 25 May 2026; there are strictly no refunds or deferrals.
The route starts at the Broughshane Road entrance to the Fairhill Centre, enters the Ballymena FC Showgrounds via Suffolk Street and Summerfield Street, then exits onto St Patricks Way before turning into Ecos Park. Runners continue through the park to just over the four mile mark, rejoin St Patricks Way and finish outside the Northern Regional College on Suffolk Street. Participants are asked to follow marshal instructions and take care at speed ramps on Suffolk Street and Summerfield Street.
All finishers receive a bespoke commemorative medal. Open prizes are 1st £100, 2nd £75 and 3rd £50 for men and women; age category and junior prizes are £30. Prize giving and the after-race Ballymena Runners Big Feed take place in the Des Allen Suite. Race packs are available for collection on Sunday 31 May in the Fairhill Centre and also on the evening of the event. Free car parking is available near the Des Allen Suite and in the Fairhill Centre; note the Ballymena Showgrounds car park St Patricks Way entrance has a temporary closure period on event day.
