Event overview
Race Over the Glen is scheduled for 1 January 2026 at Glenariff Forest Park, Glenariff Road, Ballymena, Antrim, BT44 0QX. The event is a technical trail race over 10 km that passes through forest terrain and includes waterfalls and other park sights. The minimum age to enter is 16 on the event date. The event organiser is Ballymena Runners.
Entries, fees and logistics
Entries open on 14 September 2025 and close on 26 December 2025. The field is capped at 800 entrants; the event is currently full with a waiting list. Entry categories and fees listed are: Affiliated Green £20.00, Non-Affiliated Green £22.50, Affiliated Standard £27.50, Non-Affiliated Standard £30.00. Green entries include a medal and chip timing. Standard entries (closed 23 November) include a medal, chip timing and a long-sleeved technical T-shirt. Transfers and name changes can be made online until the entry closing date. There are no refunds or deferrals. If the race is cancelled for adverse weather or other reasons, it may be rescheduled to Sunday 26 January 2026 or Sunday 16 February 2026.
Course, registration and prizes
Pre-race registration is at Ballymena Bowling Club on 28 December. Race-day registration is at the Glenariff Visitors Centre. Chip timing is used for category results. The advertised prize pot is over £1,000, with amounts for male and female open places, age-category prizes, team prizes and top junior prizes. Parking is available at nearby car parks and additional parking at Parkmore Forest; car sharing is encouraged. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
