Race Over the Glen

Race Over the Glen is a technical trail race through Glenariff Forest Park in Ballymena, Antrim. The course covers 10 kilometres and passes viewpoints and waterfalls within the forest park.

The route is technical; entrants should already be capable of running non-stop for 10 km on the road and be confident on technical terrain. Tail runners may advise participants to exit the course to protect safety. If asked to exit, do not cross the finish line and speak to a member of the race team to receive a medal.

Entry is limited to a maximum of 800 runners and the minimum age is 16. Entry options listed include Affiliated and Non-Affiliated Green entries and Affiliated and Non-Affiliated Standard entries. Green entries include a medal and chip timing. Standard entries include a medal, chip timing and a ROTG beanie hat. Transfers and name changes can be facilitated online until the entry closing date; there are no refunds or deferrals.

Pre-race registration takes place at The Thatch, 57 Main Street, Broughshane. Race day registration is at the Visitors Centre, Glenariff. Prize money exceeds £1,000 with open winner prizes, age category prizes paid by chip time, team prizes based on lowest cumulative positions, and a top junior prize. Weather permitting, a marquee will be used for prize giving and light refreshments will be provided.
