Race Over the Glen takes place on 1 January 2026 at Glenariff Forest Park, Glenariff Road, Ballymena, Antrim BT44 0QX. The event marks the 30th running of the race. The course is a technical trail route of 10 kilometres that passes through Glenariff Forest Park and includes forest views and waterfalls. Entrants must be at least 16 years old on the event date and should already be able to run 10 km continuously on road and be confident on technical terrain. Entries open 14 September 2025 and close 26 December 2025. There are 616 entries recorded so far.
Entries, fees, prizes and logistics
Entry options and fees are:
- Affiliated Green Entry £20.00 (includes medal and chip timing)
- Non-Affiliated Green Entry £22.50 (includes medal and chip timing)
- Affiliated Standard Entry £27.50 (includes medal, chip timing and long sleeved technical T-shirt)
- Non-Affiliated Standard Entry £30.00 (includes medal, chip timing and long sleeved technical T-shirt)
No refunds or deferrals are permitted; transfers and name changes are allowed online until the entry closing date. The prize pot is over £1,000: open winners receive £125/£100/£75, age category prizes are £30 each for listed age bands, team prizes use the top four club finish positions, and top junior male and female receive £30. Pre-race registration is at Ballymena Bowling Club on 28 December and race-day registration is at the Glenariff Visitors Centre. Parking is available at Ballee Park and Ride, ECOS Park, Ballymena Leisure Centre and Parkmore Forest - Touring in the Trees; car sharing is encouraged and marshals will direct parking.
