About the race
Race Over the Glen is a technical trail race held in Glenariff Forest Park, Ballymena, Antrim. The route passes viewpoints and waterfalls and covers a distance of 10 kilometres on natural, uneven terrain.
Participants are expected to be capable of comfortably running non-stop on the road for a minimum of 10 km and to be confident on technical terrain. The event has a minimum age of 16 and a maximum field capped at 800 entrants. Entries open on 16 August 2026 and close on 21 December 2026. Transfers and name changes can be made online until the entry closing date; there are no refunds or deferrals.
Two entry types are offered with different prices for affiliated and non-affiliated runners. Green Entry includes a medal and chip timing. Standard Entry includes a medal, chip timing and a ROTG beanie hat; Standard Entry closes on 1 December. The prize pot exceeds £1,000 and includes cash awards for male and female open winners, age category prizes, team prizes and top junior awards. Prize giving and light refreshments will be provided weather permitting.
Pre-race registration is scheduled at The Thatch in Broughshane on 27 December. Race day registration is at the Glenariff Visitors Centre. Organiser details list Ballymena Runners.
