About the race
The EverGreen Pumpkin Run takes place at EverGreen Cemetery in Jacksonville on Sunday, October 25, 2026. The event offers two USATF certified distances:
- 10 Mile
- 5K
Both courses run through the cemetery and surrounding streets, with pumpkins lining parts of the routes and large oak and magnolia trees providing about 90 percent shade. All miles and turns are marked and digital clocks are placed at most mile marks. The 10 Mile has a three hour time limit. The 10 Mile course is USATF certified FL20021JK and the 5K course is USATF certified FL20020JK.
Participants receive a long sleeve technical race shirt and finisher medals are awarded to both 10 Mile and 5K finishers. The 10 Mile offers prize money for the top three men and women plus a masters prize and presents age group awards for standard adult brackets; the 5K awards overall winners and age group winners including youth divisions. The 10 Mile is part of the Jacksonville Grand Prix series and 13 and under JGP scoring is assigned to the 5K.
Additional event features include a Halloween costume contest with gift card prizes for Scariest, Funniest, and Best Overall costumes, post race food and drink, and the opportunity to take one pumpkin home after the 10 Mile race has finished. The event benefits the Jacksonville Historical Society and The Evergreen Cemetery Association.
