EverGreen Pumpkin Run
The EverGreen Pumpkin Run offers two road race distances on a course that runs through Evergreen Cemetery and nearby streets.

- 5K
Both distances receive finisher medals and a long sleeve technical race shirt. The course routes are lined with pumpkins and run beneath oak and magnolia trees, making the route about 90 percent shaded. All miles and turns will be marked, with digital clocks at most miles. The 10 mile has a 3 hour time limit. Course certification codes listed for the event are FL20021JK and FL20020JK.
A Halloween costume contest awards a $25 1st Place Sports gift card in three divisions: Scariest Costume, Funniest Costume, and Best Overall Costume. The event benefits the Jacksonville Historical Society and the Evergreen Cemetery Association. Prize money for the 10 mile is listed for the top three overall men and women as $200, $150, and $100, plus $50 for 1st Masters; masters may also place overall. Age group awards are presented for multiple age ranges, and the 5K also awards top finishers in younger age groups including 10 and under and 11 to 13.
Entry fees vary by registration date and age category and range from about $30 to $60. There are no refunds. Race instructions and packet information will be emailed to registrants. Packet pickup is available at selected 1st Place Sports stores on the Friday and Saturday before the event and packets will move to the race site for race day pickup one hour before the race. Parking is available inside and outside the cemetery. Free food and drink are served after the race and runners may take one pumpkin home after the 10 mile race is finished.
This event is part of the Jacksonville Grand Prix series and awards series points to top finishers in age groups, with over $5,000 in cash and prizes awarded at the end of the series. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
