The Baldwin Group Corporate Run 5K
The Baldwin Group Corporate Run is a team oriented 5K event in Jacksonville for businesses and not for profit organizations to run or walk together. Teams are organized under a Team Captain who registers the team and manages packet pickup, tent or space rentals, and team submission for the T shirt contest. Proceeds benefit local high school cross country and track teams, summer camp scholarships, and the construction of a new three mile running trail at Aterro Recreation Park on Sunbeam Road.
Team scoring counts the top four finishers from each team, requires at least one female among scoring members, and requires that scoring members work a minimum of 20 hours per week for the company; employment will be verified. Timing is by chip on the back of the race bib and seeded runners can occupy the front corral: teams may seed their fastest 10 percent of participants, up to 25 runners. Packet pickup is handled through 1st Place Sports at 3931 Baymeadows Road with additional race day pickup available; courier delivery of team packets is offered for a fee. Entry fees are listed for the 5K with different rates before and after September 30 and no refunds are permitted.
Awards include overall and division team awards across multiple business categories, top individual and CEO awards, team spirit prizes, and a T shirt design contest. Course rules prohibit baby joggers, bicycles, roller skates, in line skates, and dogs. Water and aid stations are placed on course at the start, mid point, and finish.
