The Baldwin Group Corporate Run 5K in Jacksonville
The Baldwin Group Corporate Run is a team based 5K event for businesses and not for profit organizations in Jacksonville. It focuses on workplace participation, company spirit and community support. Proceeds benefit local high school cross country and track teams, summer camp scholarships and a new three mile running trail at Aterro Recreation Park on Sunbeam Road.
Teams register under a Team Captain who coordinates recruitment, packet pickup options, tent or space rentals, and a company t shirt entry for judging. Team scoring uses the top four finishers on each team, with at least one female among the four. Counting team members must work at least 20 hours per week for the company and employment will be verified. Chip times from the race bib are used for scoring.
Awards are presented for top corporate teams overall, team divisions, CEO competition, top individual finishers, participation, and t shirt categories. There are 14 team divisions including Banking and Financial, Education, Medical, Military and Government, Sales Retail and Hospitality, and others. A CEO category is open to most senior full time employees at companies with five or more full time staff.
Event services include seeded runner placement for the fastest 10 percent of participants up to 25 runners, team photos, race day music and complimentary beer and refreshments, water stations at start midpoint and finish, and restrictions that prohibit baby joggers strollers bicycles skates and dogs on course.
