York 5K overview

The Even Splits York 5K is a monthly road race held at the University of York Sport Village Cycle Circuit from February to November. The event covers 5 km over five laps on a flat circuit. Races are chip-timed and EA licensed; results are sent by text at the finish and kilometre splits are published the next day. Results also appear on Power of 10.

Entry is limited to 200 runners. Single-race and season-pass pricing is available, with different rates for affiliated and unaffiliated entrants. Entry on the day is not available. Entrants may defer their place once to the next race they can attend in the same calendar year if they request this at least three days before the race. There are no refunds and race places cannot be transferred to another runner.

First-time entrants receive a race number with an embedded timing chip for use at York and Leeds 5K events; previously issued red 5K numbers from 2020–25 may be reused in 2026 if recorded on the entry form. Each entrant is entitled to one free number replacement in a 12-month period; subsequent replacements are charged at £4.

Facilities at the Race HQ include water, distance markers and toilets. There are no changing facilities, no showers and no baggage storage. A chocolate bar is provided at the finish. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
