Event Overview
The Vale of York event features two distinct road races held on closed roads south of York and north of Selby. The routes are located near Wistow and are characterized by a flat profile. The event is organized in aid of Sue Ryder, a charity providing palliative care and therapy services. Both race distances are accurately measured by UKACM and operate under runbritain race licenses.

- Half Marathon: A fast and flat course through scenic roads.
- 10K: A flat course held on the same day as the longer distance.
Course Information
The races start and finish just outside Wistow. The routes utilize rural roads that are closed to traffic for the duration of the event. While the course layout remains consistent with recent years, the specific start and finish locations for 2026 are different from those used in 2025. Participants must be at least 17 years old on the day of the race to enter either distance.
Logistics and Environmental Impact
Race Headquarters serves as the primary parking area for all vehicles, and parking on the roads leading to the venue is prohibited to keep the race route clear. The event incorporates environmental options regarding race mementos; participants can choose to purchase a technical t-shirt or opt in or out of receiving a finisher's medal. If a runner chooses to opt out of the medal, a donation is made to the charity partner.
Registration Details
Entries are available for both affiliated and unaffiliated runners. Race place transfers are not permitted after late August, and there are no options for deferring entries.
