Vale of York Half Marathon & 10K 2026
The Vale of York Half Marathon returns for its 12th year in 2026, accompanied by a 10K race. Both events take place on a flat, road-based course located south of York and north of Selby. The races start and finish just outside the village of Wistow in North Yorkshire. Participants run on scenic closed roads through the local countryside.
The event offers two distinct distances:
- 10 km
- 13.1 miles (Half Marathon)
The course consists of a single lap and carries a UKA licence. The event has an entry limit of 1500 participants. Race Headquarters is situated at Wistow Common. Facilities available at the venue include toilets and water stations, though runners should note that there are no changing facilities, showers, or baggage storage areas provided on-site. Distance markers are placed along the route to assist participants.
Proceeds from the event support the charity partner Sue Ryder. To manage environmental impact, runners can choose whether to purchase a technical finisher's t-shirt. There is also an option to opt out of the finisher's medal; in these instances, a donation is made to the Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice. If the event does not sell out in advance, entries may be available on the day for an additional fee. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
