The York 5K is a road race held at the University of York Sport Village Cycle Circuit, Heslington East, York (YO10 5FG). The race distance is 5 Kilometres run as five laps on a flat circuit. Races are held monthly from February to November and are chip-timed with an EA licence. Results appear on Power of 10, finish-line results are sent by text, and kilometre splits are published the following day. A small food item is provided at the finish.

Entry and policies

The organiser is Even Splits. Entry is limited to 200 runners; 195 places remained at the time of listing. Entry on the day is not available. Single-entry fees are listed as £10.00 (affiliated) and £12.00 (unaffiliated). A race pass covering multiple months is offered at £40.00 (affiliated) and £48.00 (unaffiliated). Online entry closes at 10:00 on race day. Entrants receive a race number with an embedded timing chip on first entry; previously issued red 5K numbers from 2020-25 may be reused if recorded on the entry form. One free number replacement is permitted in a 12 month period; subsequent replacements cost £4.

Deferral to the next race in the calendar year is allowed once if requested at least three days before race day. No refunds are available and places cannot be transferred to another runner.
