Even Splits York 5K
The Even Splits York 5K is a monthly road race held at the University of York Sport Village Cycle Circuit, running from February to November. The course is a flat, five-lap circuit covering 5 kilometres and is presented as a fast layout for measuring 5K performance. The event uses electronic chip timing and sends results by text as runners cross the finish line; kilometre splits are published the next day. A small finish token (a chocolate bar) is provided to finishers.
Entry is limited to 200 runners; places remaining were listed as 163. Entry options include single-race fees and a multi-race pass for the July to November series. Published fees include an affiliated single entry at £10.00 and an unaffiliated single entry at £12.00; a York Race Pass (Jul-Nov) is available for £40.00 affiliated and £48.00 unaffiliated. Entry on the day is not available.
Race numbers with an embedded timing chip are assigned on first entry and issued from Registration; the same chip number can be used at both York and Leeds 5K events. Previously issued red 5K numbers from 2020-25 may be reused in 2026 if recorded on the entry form. Entrants are entitled to one free number replacement in a 12 month period; subsequent replacements incur a £4 charge.
Facilities listed at Race HQ include water, distance markers, and toilets. There are no changing facilities, no showers, and no baggage storage. The organiser is Even Splits. Deferral is allowed once to the next race in the calendar year if requested at least three days before race day. All entries are non-refundable and non-transferable.
