Event details
The York 5K on 10 July 2026 takes place at the University of York Sport Village cycle circuit. The event is part of the Even Splits York 5K series, held monthly from February to November at the same venue. The course is a road circuit, flat in profile, and comprises five laps. The race is chip-timed; finish-line text results are sent to runners and kilometre splits are published the next day. A chocolate bar is handed out at the finish. The event is suitable for wheelchairs. A race licence has been applied for. Entry is limited to 200 places.
Entries, fees and facilities
Online entry opens at 10:00 on 5 December 2025 and closes at 10:00 on race day. Entry on the day is not available. Prices listed are:

When entered for the first time, runners are assigned a race number with an embedded timing chip to collect from registration. Previously issued red 5K numbers may be reused in 2026 if recorded on the entry form. Entrants are allowed one free number replacement within 12 months; additional replacements cost £4. A place may be deferred once to the next race in the same calendar year if requested at least three days before race day. There are no refunds and race places cannot be transferred. Facilities at the venue include water stations, distance markers and toilets; there are no changing rooms, showers or baggage storage. Race HQ is University of York Sport Village, Heslington East.
