Event overview

The Yorkshire Wolds Ultra is a circular trail event on 25 July 2026. The route is 54 km long with about 4,100 ft of climb and an overall cut-off of 12 hours. Entry is limited to 200 participants and fees start from £47. The minimum age is 20 on the event date. Dogs are not allowed.

Route and support

The route starts and finishes on the edge of Pocklington and passes through the villages of Givendale, Bishop Wilton, Kirby Underdale, Thixendale, Huggate and Fridaythorpe. There are 4 indoor checkpoints on the course, all with toilet facilities. Checkpoint food and drink are vegan friendly and gluten free. One checkpoint will provide hot drinks and a non-returnable food drop-bag option is available.

Navigation, safety and logistics

Entries include a GPX file and live GPS tracking via OpenTracking. Key junctions will have yellow tape and large yellow correx signs but participants are advised to familiarise themselves with the route beforehand. First aid cover will be on site and mandatory kit must be carried. Free parking and changing facilities are available at registration at Kilnwick Park Ground, Kilnwick Road, Pocklington. Finishers can choose an eco-wooden medal, a wildflower seed medal, or opt for tree planting instead; a technical tee is available as an optional extra.

Additional notes

At least £3 of the entry fee is allocated to local charities. In the first three editions, almost half of starters were first-time ultra runners. Free tea or coffee and a brownie are provided at the finish. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
