Event overview
The Yorkshire Wolds Ultra is a circular trail event held on 25 July 2026, starting and finishing on the edge of Pocklington, YO42. The course is about 55 km long with approximately 4,100 ft of ascent. The route passes through the villages of Givendale, Bishop Wilton, Kirby Underdale, Thixendale, Huggate and Fridaythorpe and uses less trodden trails, valleys and meadows. The event capacity is 200 participants and entries were open from 4 August 2025 until 28 June 2026.
Practical information
The event includes premium live GPS tracking via OpenTracking and a downloadable GPX. Navigation aids such as yellow tape and large yellow correx signs will be placed at key junctions. There are four indoor checkpoints with toilet facilities; all checkpoint food and drink is vegan friendly and gluten free. A generous overall cut-off of 12 hours applies and there are no checkpoint cut-off times. On-site facilities at registration include free parking, changing rooms and, at the finish, showers. First aid cover will be provided for the duration of the event. Minimum age to enter is 20 years. Finishers may choose an eco-wooden medal, a wildflower seed medal, or opt out so trees are planted; event photography and tea with cake are provided at the finish.
