Yorkshire Wolds Ultra
The Yorkshire Wolds Ultra is a 54 km circular trail running event that begins and ends in Pocklington. The route is designed to showcase the landscape of the Yorkshire Wolds, visiting several villages including Givendale, Bishop Wilton, Kirby Underdale, Thixendale, Huggate, and Fridaythorpe. The course features a total ascent of 4,100 ft and includes hidden valleys, wild grass meadows, and sections of less-frequented trails.
This event is established as a suitable option for those attempting their first ultra marathon, with approximately half of previous participants being first-time ultra runners. The race has an overall completion time limit of 12 hours, though there are no individual cut-off times at the checkpoints.
Participants have access to the following distances and course features:

The event provides four checkpoints along the route, all of which include toilet facilities and menstrual products. The nutrition provided at these stations is vegan-friendly and gluten-free. Entrants receive a live GPS tracker for navigation and safety, and the course is marked with yellow tape and signage.
Registration takes place at Kilnwick Park Ground, which offers free parking, changing rooms, and showers for runners. At the finish, participants can choose between an eco-wooden medal, a wildflower seed medal, or having three trees planted in their name.
