Yorkshire Wolds Ultra
The Yorkshire Wolds Ultra is a 54 km circular trail run that starts and finishes on the edge of Pocklington in Yorkshire, UK. The route visits the villages of Givendale, Bishop Wilton, Kirby Underdale, Thixendale, Huggate and Fridaythorpe and includes about 4,100 ft of climb. The course uses less trodden trails, hidden valleys and wild grass meadows.
There are four checkpoints on route that provide food, drink, toilets and menstrual products and allow spectator support. A drink only water station is located at 32 miles. There are no checkpoint cut off times but the overall event cut off is 12 hours.
Navigation and tracking are provided. Entrants receive a GPX file and the event adds yellow tape and large yellow signs at key junctions. Live tracking is included as part of entry and the route is available in multiple map types including OS Maps. Recce routes are provided in advance.
Facilities at registration include free parking, changing rooms, and showers. Finish area provisions include hot and cold drinks and snacks and a mug of Yorkshire tea or coffee with a slab of brownie baked by residents of Kirby Underdale. Medal options include an eco wooden medal, a wildflower seed medal that can be planted, or a no medal option with tree planting. Minimum age is 20.
