Yorkshire Wolds Ultra
The Yorkshire Wolds Ultra is a 54 km circular trail race through the landscape of the Yorkshire Wolds. The course begins and ends on the outskirts of Pocklington, passing through several local villages including Givendale, Bishop Wilton, Kirby Underdale, Thixendale, Huggate, and Fridaythorpe.
The route is designed to feature less-frequented trails and hidden valleys, characterized by wild grass meadows and significant elevation changes. The course includes a total climb of 4,100 feet. Participants have a 12-hour cut-off period to complete the distance, which requires an average pace of approximately 3 miles per hour. There are no individual cut-off times at the checkpoints.

The event provides four checkpoints along the route, each equipped with toilet facilities and menstrual products. All food and drink provided at these stations are vegan-friendly and gluten-free. Entrants receive a live GPS tracker for navigation and safety, and the route is further marked with yellow tape and signage at key junctions.
Facilities at the registration site in Pocklington include free parking, changing rooms, and showers. After the event, participants are offered hot drinks, snacks, and a brownie baked by local residents. The event supports various local charities through a portion of the entry fee and provides a collection point for unwanted sports clothing.
