The York 5K on 13 February 2026 is part of a monthly series held from February to November at the University of York Sport Village Cycle Circuit, Heslington East, Lakeside Way, YORK, YO10 5FG. The event distance is 5 Kilometres on a road circuit. The course is flat and consists of five laps. The race is EA licensed or has applied for a race licence and is suitable for wheelchairs. Entry is limited to 200 runners; 177 places remained at the time of the listing.
Entry, timing and facilities
The event is organised by Even Splits. Entry options include single-race and season-pass prices: affiliated single entry £10.00, unaffiliated single entry £12.00, York Race Pass (Feb-Nov) affiliated £65.00, unaffiliated £78.00. Online entry closes at 10:00 on race day and entry on the day is not available. First-time entrants are assigned a race number with an embedded timing chip for reuse at York and Leeds 5K; previously issued red 5K numbers from 2020-25 may be reused if recorded on the entry form. One free number replacement is allowed in a 12-month period; further replacements cost £4.
Races are chip-timed and EA licensed, with finish-line text results and kilometre splits published the next day. Facilities include water stations, distance markers and toilets. There are no changing facilities, no showers and no baggage store. Deferral to the next race in the calendar year is allowed once if requested at least three days before race day.
