Event overview
The York 5K takes place on 13 March 2026 at the University of York Sport Village Cycle Circuit in York. The event is organised by Even Splits and is part of a monthly series held from February to November. The distance is 5 kilometres. The circuit is flat and run over five laps.
Course and timing
The race is held on a road cycle circuit and is chip-timed. It is EA licensed and results appear on Power of 10. Runners receive a text result as they cross the finish line and kilometre splits are published the next day. The event is suitable for wheelchairs. Entry is limited to 200 runners; 190 places remained at the time of listing. A race licence has been applied for.
Facilities and entry
Facilities at the Race HQ include water stations, distance markers and toilets. There are no changing facilities, no showers and no baggage store. Entry on the day is not available and online entry closes at 10:00 on race day. Entry fees are listed as: single race entry AFFILIATED £10.00, UNAFFILIATED £12.00; race pass (Mar-Nov) AFFILIATED £62.00, UNAFFILIATED £74.00. First-time entrants are assigned a race number with an embedded timing chip that can be reused at York and Leeds 5K events. Existing red 5K numbers from 2020-25 may be used in 2026 if recorded on the entry form. One free number replacement is allowed per 12 month period; subsequent replacements cost £4. Places may be deferred once to the next race in the calendar year if requested at least three days before race day. There are no refunds and places cannot be transferred to another runner.
