It is specifically for faster runners, with entry only open to male or open runners expecting a finish time under 17 minutes and female runners expecting a finish time under 19 minutes.

The Course

The event is a 5 km race run on a flat and fast five-lap road circuit. The course is suitable for wheelchairs. An 'Open' race for runners of all speeds is held on the same night.

Event Features

The race is chip-timed and has an England Athletics license. Results are sent by text immediately after finishing, and kilometre splits are published the next day. All finishers receive a chocolate bar. Participants use a reusable race number with an embedded timing chip, which can also be used at the organizer's Leeds 5k event.
