Event overview
The York 5K on 13 March 2026 is a road race held at the University of York Sport Village Cycle Circuit. The course is a flat, five-lap circuit and the race distance is 5 Kilometres. Races in this series are chip-timed and hold an athletics association licence; results are sent by text at the finish and kilometre splits are published the next day. The event is part of a monthly series run from February to November.
Entry, fees and rules
Entry opens on 5 December 2025. Online entry closes on race day. Entry is limited to 200 places. Single-race fees are listed as £10 (affiliated) and £12 (unaffiliated). A season race pass (March to November) is offered at £62 (affiliated) and £74 (unaffiliated). Entry on the day is not available. Entrants receive a race number with an embedded timing chip; previously issued red 5K numbers from 2020-25 may be reused if recorded on the entry form. One free number replacement is allowed in a 12-month period; subsequent replacements cost £4. Places may be deferred once to the next race in the calendar year if requested at least three days before race day. There are no refunds and race places cannot be transferred.
Facilities and accessibility
