Event format

Puzzlerun York is a 5k event that combines running or walking with puzzles. Participants solve escape-room-style puzzles at stations along the course. They use a webapp on a smartphone or tablet to get hints, input answers, and see their times. Teams of up to four players can participate, and at least one team member must have a working internet-connected device.

Course

The course is 5 km long. The route is on flat, smooth tarmac, using the 1 km cycling loop at York Sport Village. The event involves running or walking approximately 500 meters between puzzle stations. There are 10 puzzle stations in total.

Other information

Participants receive a medal upon finishing. Facilities include a bag drop, toilets, and a cafe with drinks and snacks available nearby. Registration requires purchasing one ticket per player. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
