Vale of York 5M & 10M 2026
The Vale of York 5M & 10M takes place on 29 March 2026 at Rufforth, North Yorkshire, with Race HQ at Rufforth Airfield West, York YO23 3NA. The event offers two distances:
- 10 miles
- 5 miles
The course is a single lap on road and is described as flat, using closed rural roads through villages west of York and east of Leeds. The event holds an EA licence (31046) and is listed as suitable for wheelchairs. The entry limit is 850 places, with 59 places remaining at the time of listing. Entry fees range from £15.00 to £25.00 depending on distance and affiliation; entry on the day may be available for an additional £5.00 if the event has not sold out.
Facilities at Race HQ and on course include water, distance markers and toilets. There are no changing facilities, no showers and no baggage storage. Finishers receive chocolate and water, and all medals are wooden; the organiser cites local manufacture, reduced air miles and easier recycling as reasons for this choice. The option to buy a race t-shirt was withdrawn because all ordered shirts were allocated; any leftover shirts may be sold at the event for £10 each on a first come first served basis.
Refunds are subject to the organiser's policy. Entries are non-refundable within four weeks of the race; cancelled events are transferred to a rescheduled date. No race place transfers are permitted after 18 March 2026. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
