Vale of York 5M and 10M, 29 March 2026

The Vale of York event is a road race held at Rufforth Airfield West, York. It offers two distances:

  • 5 miles
  • 10 miles

The course is a single lap on flat, closed roads through villages west of York and east of Leeds. The event uses Rufforth Airfield West as Race HQ and includes a car park at the venue. The course is marked with distance markers and is listed as suitable for wheelchairs. An England Athletics licence is pending. The event has an entry limit of 800 places and showed 585 remaining places at the time of listing.

Facilities at the event include water stations and toilets. There are no changing facilities, no showers and no baggage store. Finishers receive wooden medals produced in the UK and are given chocolate and water at the finish. Entry fees range from £15.00 to £35.00 depending on distance and t shirt options, with on the day entry available for an additional £5.00 if the event has not sold out. Refunds are not available once places are sold or within four weeks of race day; if the race is cancelled entries transfer to a rescheduled date. Race place transfers are not permitted after Wednesday 18 March 2026 and unauthorised name swaps may result in disqualification and reporting to UK Athletics.
