Euchre Bar Massacre
Euchre Bar Massacre is a fatass style trail event near Foresthill, CA with two distance options. The event starts and finishes at Shirttail Creek Campground and follows routes along the North Fork of the American River.
- 25 mile
- 50 mile
Both courses include significant off trail sections, bushwhacking, and route finding. The 25 mile course includes roughly 10,000 feet of climbing and the 50 mile course includes roughly 20,000 feet of climbing. Distances are approximate and may refer to nautical miles. The route uses named features such as Euchre Bar, Pioneer Mine, Ebeneezer's highway, Green Valley, Mumford Bar, and Italian Bar. There is one drop bag and crew location that participants will pass twice.
Entry is free and registration for both distances combined is limited to 50 people. Participants are asked to wait at the finish until at least one other runner arrives. The organizer keeps the course map private until the week before the event. A group campsite is available for Friday and Saturday nights. If the event is full, the organizer maintains a waitlist and historically those on the waitlist have been admitted. Previous finish times reported were about 14 hours for the 25 mile and about 25 hours for the 50 mile. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
