Euchre Bar Massacre - October 10, 2026
This is a free, fatass-style trail event near Foresthill, CA along the North Fork of the American River. The event offers two distance options and is limited to a combined total of 50 entrants. A group campsite is available for Friday and Saturday nights.
The route includes off-trail sections and requires route finding and bushwhacking. The course uses trails and features such as Euchre Bar, Pioneer Mine, Ebeneezer's highway, Green Valley, Mumford Bar, and Italian Bar. There will be one designated location for drop bags and crew access that participants will pass twice. The organizer will post the map the week before the event. Distances are approximate and the listing notes they may refer to nautical miles.
Expect significant climbing: roughly 10,000' of climbing for the 25 mile option and roughly 20,000' for the 50 mile option. Past finish times were about 14 hours for the 25 mile and 25 hours for the 50 mile, illustrating the sustained effort required. Organizers maintain a waiting list for a full event; historically, everyone placed on that waiting list has been admitted. Registration closes Oct 9.
