Escape From Alcatraz Triathlon
The Escape From Alcatraz Triathlon is a multi-discipline race held in San Francisco that combines open-water swimming, road cycling, and road running. The event includes both a professional component and an established amateur race now branded under the Sokin name. For 2027 the event is scheduled across two days in early June and entry for the main race is allocated by a random drawing.
The standard course format reported for recent editions consists of a swim that starts from Alcatraz Island followed by a bike leg over San Francisco roads and a run along the bay. Distances published for a recent edition are:
- 1.5 mile swim from Alcatraz
- 18 mile bike through San Francisco hills
- 8 mile run along the San Francisco Bay
The event program lists specific race categories and services, including a collegiate division, open relay options, a corporate category, and charity partner entries. Event information also references athlete resources and logistics such as an athlete guide, race tips, lodging information, bike rental options, volunteer support, and race registration policies. Results and historical records from prior years are maintained for reference. The event partners and sponsors are identified under the Sokin branding for recent professional and amateur race organization. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
