Event Overview
The ERC Centenary Duathlon is an off-road duathlon event hosted at Meadowmill Sports Centre in East Lothian as part of a club's centenary celebrations. The event provides entirely off-road racing for adults and younger athletes in a fully enclosed environment.
Distances
The main adult duathlon consists of:
- Run 5km
- Bike 10km
- Run 2.5km
Younger athlete races are offered for Tristar and Youth age groups.
Course Details
The bike course is described as non-technical and cyclocross-style, suitable for athletes unfamiliar with this style of riding. It will not include hurdles or hills that require dismounting. The event is noted as a good option for a first duathlon, with a course design that prioritises safety.
Age Groups and Categories
The adult race is for participants aged 17 and over, with separate Female and Open waves. Age for junior categories (Tristar 1, 2, 3, and Youth) is determined by the participant's age on 31st December 2026. A relay option is available for teams of two, with categories for Female, Mixed, or Open teams.
Participant Requirements
Participants must have a valid British Triathlon Home Nation race licence or purchase a British Triathlon Race Pass for insurance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
