EPOC Oakwell Hall - YHOA Regional Event
The East Pennine Orienteering Club will hold a regional orienteering event at Oakwell Hall country park on Sunday 21st December. Entries close on 14th December; the event listing showed 2 of 100 places taken. Oakwell Hall country park has a mix of woods and parkland, an extensive path network and some steeper slopes. The site is used by horses, cyclists and dog walkers and is relatively sheltered. The park will be shared with SEND families visiting Santa in the barn, and organisers ask extra care when passing. Car sharing is available.
Help and advice with navigation will be offered and timing dibber hire is available. For first-time participants organisers suggest entering a family group on the White or Yellow novice courses (enter as a group name). The event adopts British Orienteering's Young Adult category for those aged 21-25 on 31st December; juniors are under 21 on 31st December.

- Novice - 1.0 km (entry limit 4)
- Yellow TD2 - 1.4 km (entry limit 5)
- Light Green TD4 - 3.0 km (entry limit 7)
- Very Short Green - 2.2 km (entry limit 5)
- Short Green - 3.0 km (entry limit 31)
- Green - 4.0 km (entry limit 23)
- Blue - 6.1 km (entry limit 25)
Entry fees: Senior £8.00 (non-British Orienteering supplement £2.00, chip hire £1.00); Young Adult £6.50 (supplement £2.00, chip hire £1.00); Junior £5.00 (chip hire £0.50). Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
