Event overview
The Spring Time Canal Canter takes place on 14/03/2026 at the Leeds/Liverpool Canal near Wyther Lane, Kirkstall, Leeds (LS5 3BT). The route follows the Leeds to Liverpool Canal at Kirkstall and is an entirely flat, out-and-back course on good trail surfaces. Day one includes a shorter out-and-back loop for Marathon and 20-mile runners. The course is described as lakeside and largely off-road.

Elevation: flat. Terrain: good trail. Feed and drink stations are provided approximately every 3 miles; the organiser aims to be cup-less so runners are asked to use a reusable cup or bottle. The course is marshalled and signed. Bibs are issued on the day at registration. The event is licenced by the Trail Running Association. There may be unmarshalled road crossings. Large over-ear headphones are banned; bone-conducting or single in-ear use is permitted. Closest train station is Headingley (Northern Service). There is no parking at the start-finish; local parking is available and Kirkstall Morrisons car park is about a 5 minute walk away.
