Haworth Hobble
The Haworth Hobble is an annual long-distance fell race around the gritstone moors near Haworth, Todmorden and Hebden Bridge, held on Saturday 13 March 2027. The course is approximately 32.4 miles / 52 km with about 1700 m of ascent and descent and is described as largely trails and moors with only a few short road sections. GPS use is not allowed for navigation.
Competitors must be at least 18 years old on race day and carry full Fell Runners Association mandatory kit plus additional items specified by the organisers: a foil blanket or bivvy bag, minimum 0.5 litre water carrying capacity and an extra long sleeved thermal base layer not worn at the start. The event includes cut offs at checkpoints and a maximum overall time of about 11 hours; in exceptional circumstances the course may be reduced to a 21 mile bad weather route.
Entries for the 2027 race open on 1 October 2026 via SI Entries; the 2026 race sold out on its opening morning. The event donates surplus funds to local charities and the club juniors, and offers 15 free places to active UK Search and Rescue volunteers. Categories include individual and pairs entries, with a non binary category. Reccy runs are organised in the months before the race and waterproof course maps, GPX files, feed station details and a race briefing are published in advance. The organiser maintains a no refunds policy, one free deferral to the following year, and substitutions via SI Entries until 31 January 2027.
