Event overview
The Haworth Hobble is an off-road ultra event held on 14 March 2026 as the 45th running. The course is 51 km / 31.7 mi (about 32 miles) with 1,340 m / 4,396 ft of climb. The route traverses gritstone moors around Haworth, Todmorden and Hebden Bridge and is based at Haworth Primary School, Rawdon Road, Haworth (grid ref SE 03143 37265). The event holds an FRA permit, is category BL, and GPS devices are not allowed for navigation. Minimum age is 18 (entrants must turn 19 by year end to be eligible). The organisers state that the route includes remote, exposed moorland and competitors must have appropriate skills and experience.
Logistics, kit and policies
Full FRA mandatory kit is required plus a foil blanket or bivvy bag, a minimum 0.5 litre water carrying capacity and an additional long-sleeved thermal base layer not to be worn at the race start. Trackers are issued to competitors for live tracking. There are six staffed feed stations offering drinks and a variety of food items, with additional hot options at some stations and hot food at the finish. Waterproof race maps are available for purchase at registration. Recces and guided training runs are organised before the event. Entry fees are listed (£28 senior, £18 under 25) with FRA member discount and optional event clothing for purchase. The event is volunteer run; there are no refunds, with specified deferral and substitution windows and limited reserved places for rescue personnel.
