Event overview

Punk Panther Welcome Way is a trail race held on 14 March 2026 in Otley, West Yorkshire. The event uses The Bridge Church as the listed location and finishes at Otley Cricket Club, Cross Green, LS21 1RB. The race follows the Welcome Way, a circular trail through moorland, rivers, canals, reservoirs, farmland and woodland, with high points including Otley Chevin and Burley and Baildon moors. This edition is the 100th Punk Panther event.

Entry details: minimum age 18, maximum entrants 200, entries close 1 March 2026. Entry fees vary by distance. At the time of the listing there were 86 participants. The event is Race 3 of 10 in the series and 1 of 4 in the 50 mile series.

Route, checkpoints and scoring

Climb for the distances is listed as 1360 / 2280 / 4240 / 6000 feet respectively. Checkpoints include CP1 Denton (8 miles) and CP2 Burley (12.5 miles); CP3 Shipley Glen, CP4 The Chevin and CP5 Arthington Village Hall are on ultramarathon courses. Checkpoints provide water, coke, energy bars and crisps. Arriving after a checkpoint closes will result in retirement from the race. ITRA and UTMB points are allocated per distance.

Practical information

Car parking is at Craftsman Tools Car Park, Bremner Street, LS21 1JD. Registration is at Otley Cricket Club. Dogs are not permitted inside the cricket club at registration or finish. Ultramarathon entrants receive a tracker; shorter-distance runners may hire a tracker for a fee. A compulsory kit list applies to all distances and includes a waterproof jacket, survival bag, whistle, head torch for the 50 mile course, hard copy map, personal first aid kit and sufficient fluids.
