Punk Panther Welcome Way
Punk Panther Welcome Way is a trail running event on Saturday 14 March 2026 based in Otley, West Yorkshire. The event base and finish are at Otley Cricket Club, Cross Green, Otley, LS21 1RB, with event parking provided nearby. Organizer is Punk Panther Ultra Marathons. Minimum age is 18 and the event is limited to 200 entrants. Entries open 31 July 2025 and close 1 March 2026.
Course and race details
The route largely follows the Welcome Way, a circular trail across moorland, alongside rivers, canals and reservoirs, across farmland and through woodland. High points on the route include Otley Chevin and Burley and Baildon moors.
Distances:
- 13 Miles - 1360 Feet climb
- 20 Miles - 2280 Feet climb
- 34 Miles - 4240 Feet climb
- 50 Miles - 6000 Feet climb
Checkpoints provide water, coke, energy bars and crisps. CP1 (Denton) and CP2 (Burley) are on all courses; additional checkpoints (Shipley Glen, The Chevin, Arthington Village Hall) are on the ultramarathon courses. All ultramarathon entrants receive a tracker; half marathon and 20 mile runners can hire a tracker for £15. Drop bags are accepted only for the 50 mile course and will be moved to CP3; they must be no larger than a carrier bag. A mandatory minimum kit list applies to all distances and includes a suitable bag, waterproof jacket, fluids, a cup, nutrition, survival/bivvy bag, whistle, hat or buff, gloves, a personal first aid kit and a hard copy map/route description. Head torch is required for the 50 mile course. Finishers receive a medal and an event T-shirt unless they opt out. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
