EPIC Aylsham 5K
The EPIC Aylsham event is a town centre 5 km race with the start and finish located in Aylsham Market Place, NR11 6EN. Race headquarters are at Aylsham Town Hall, adjacent to the start, where race numbers can be collected on the evening of the event.
Race entry includes chip timing and a bespoke race medal. Race numbers are issued by Total Race Timing; entries that include postage will receive numbers about a week before the event. All race numbers must be attached securely to the front of the running top because the timing chip is attached to the number and it must be visible while running.
The course is multi terrain and has been officially measured by UKA. Only the first 1 km is on closed roads; remaining road sections are on open, mainly quiet residential roads. Road crossings will be managed by CSAS marshals who will stop traffic where required. Participants should expect some narrow sections and follow marshal instructions. Bone conduction headphones are the only type permitted under UKA guidelines. Dogs are not allowed to join participants.
There is a baggage drop at Race HQ. Public toilets behind the Town Hall will be open. Water in compostable cups will be available at the finish. Free parking is available at Burgh Road Car Park (NR11 6AJ), Bure Valley Railway Car Park (Station Road NR11 6BW) which closes at 9pm, and Buttlands Car Park (22 Mill Road NR11 6DS).
