Worstead 5 : event description
North Norfolk Beach Runners will host the 38th edition of the Worstead 5 miles road race in Worstead as part of the Sportlink Grand Prix Series 2026. The course runs on undulating local country lanes, includes a loop near Sloley, and finishes in the village square with space for spectators and festival activity.
The event is run under UK Athletics rules; the course has been measured, certified, and will be UK Athletics licensed. Club gazebos may be brought to the festival arena for team use. Race numbers will be posted in advance. Free car parking is available; the published postcode for parking is NR28 9SD.
Eligibility and charges: the minimum age is 15 years on race day. Entry fees are listed for affiliated and unaffiliated runners including administration charges. All finishers receive a medal. Cash prizes are awarded to the first three male and first three female finishers (£50, £30, £20 respectively). Trophies are awarded for first, second and third in age categories: Junior (U18), Senior, and 40 through to 80+ in five-year bands. A mixed team prize is calculated for registered clubs by cumulative time of the first two male and first two female finishers.
Safety and rules: roads are not closed to traffic; first aid and medical cover will be present at the start/finish. Pets and pushchairs are not permitted. Headphones, including bone conduction types, are prohibited and may result in disqualification. Entries are non-refundable and not transferable after the published transfer deadline; transfers to another runner are permitted until midnight on 10/07/2026.
