Worstead 5 : event description
The Worstead 5 is the 38th edition of a five mile road race organised by North Norfolk Beach Runners. The course uses local country lanes and is described as undulating. The route begins in the village square, continues along country lanes for around a mile before a loop near Sloley, and returns to the village square for the finish. Roads on the route are not closed to traffic.
The event is run under UK Athletics rules. The course has been measured, certified and will be UK Athletics licensed. Race numbers are posted in advance. First aid and medical cover are provided at the start/finish area. Pets and pushchairs are not allowed. Headphones, including bone conduction types, are prohibited and wearing them can lead to disqualification under England Athletics rules.
The race acts as a precursor to the Worstead Festival and takes place alongside a festival area with street food vendors and drinks. Clubs may bring gazebos to the festival arena for kit and gathering space.
Entry fees are listed separately for affiliated and unaffiliated runners with an administration fee applied. Minimum age is 15 years on race day. Cash prizes are awarded to the first three male and first three female finishers, trophies are given in age categories from Junior (U18) through 80 plus, and all finishers receive a medal. Free car parking is available at postcode NR28 9SD. Entries are non refundable; transfers to another runner are permitted until midnight on 10/07/2026.
