Letting Off Steam
Letting Off Steam is a summer running event held in collaboration with the Keeping Abreast Breast Cancer Reconstruction Support Charity. The event takes place at the Whitwell and Reepham Railway Station and utilizes the Marriott's Way and various local footpaths for its course.
Participants can choose between two different distances:
- 5 km
- 10 km
The 5 km route is open to all ages, though participants under 11 must be accompanied by an adult. The 10 km distance is restricted to runners aged 15 and over. These races are not timed to reduce organizational costs and maximize the charitable donation to the supporting organization.
The event is licensed by the Association of Running Clubs and operates under UK Athletics Rules with permit number ARC 26/0143. All participants receive a medal upon finishing the course. On-site facilities include refreshments available throughout the event and all-day car parking for a small fee, which is donated to the Whitwell and Reepham Preservation Society.
Registration takes place at the railway station on the morning of the event. While entries are non-refundable and cannot be deferred, transfers to another runner are permitted until a specified deadline prior to the race day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
